Application Engineer

Position Overview

Systemair Saudi Arabia is seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Application Engineer to join our Sales and Engineering teams. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a technical expert, providing comprehensive support for HVAC products and solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass reviewing project requirements, selecting suitable equipment, preparing detailed technical submittals and quotations, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver technically compliant and efficient HVAC solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Project Analysis and Equipment Selection: Review project specifications, drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documents to identify HVAC requirements. Select appropriate HVAC equipment in alignment with project needs and international standards, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
• Technical Documentation and Proposals: Prepare accurate technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and compliance statements. Utilize Systemair selection software and other engineering tools to perform equipment selection and generate detailed submittals, datasheets, and material submissions for consultant approval.
• Sales and Consultant Support: Provide expert technical assistance to the sales team during bidding, negotiation, and tender processes. Address consultant comments and provide clarifications to ensure seamless approval of technical submissions.
• Regulatory Compliance and Standards: Ensure all HVAC solutions adhere to ASHRAE, AHRI, SMACNA, Eurovent standards, and local Saudi regulations, guaranteeing the highest levels of safety, efficiency, and performance.
• Project Documentation and Handover: Maintain meticulous project documentation and technical records. Support project handover by delivering comprehensive technical documentation and engineering assistance to ensure a smooth transition from design to implementation.
• Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging HVAC technologies, products, and market trends to recommend cutting-edge solutions that enhance system efficiency and customer value.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in HVAC applications, design, sales support, or technical engineering. Proficiency in HVAC industry practices, including equipment selection and technical submittal preparation, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with consultant approval processes and a strong understanding of ASHRAE standards and HVAC design principles.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, along with proficiency in HVAC selection software such as Systemair, Carrier HAP, Elite, Revit MEP, or similar tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are critical, as is the capacity to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.

Excellent communication and presentation skills are required to effectively liaise with customers, consultants, and internal teams. The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving project demands is paramount. While prior experience in value engineering, tender review, or mechanical calculations is advantageous, a proactive attitude and willingness to learn will ensure success in this role.
