Key Responsibilities

As a Java Backend Developer, your core responsibilities will include:

• System Architecture & Development: Design, implement, and optimize backend services using Java and related technologies to ensure robust performance and scalability.
• API Development: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices that facilitate seamless integration between frontend applications and backend systems.
• Database Management: Design, optimize, and manage relational and NoSQL databases to support application functionality and data integrity.
• Code Review & Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, security standards, and performance benchmarks. Implement automated testing frameworks to validate system reliability.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with product managers, frontend developers, and DevOps engineers to align technical solutions with business objectives. Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.
• Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency. Diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted service.
• Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, including encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms, to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and technical competencies:

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in Java (preferably Java 11 or later) and frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Jakarta EE. Familiarity with build tools like Maven or Gradle is essential.
• Database Expertise: Hands-on experience with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra). Knowledge of database optimization and query tuning is highly desirable.
• API & Integration Skills: Proficiency in developing and consuming RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and SOAP services. Experience with API gateways and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) is advantageous.
• Cloud & DevOps Awareness: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Problem-Solving & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges with a collaborative mindset. Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Industry Knowledge: Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
