Position Overview

Magical Sky is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Intensivist to join our multidisciplinary team in Jeddah. In this critical role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional care to patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), managing complex medical conditions with precision and expertise. Your leadership will be pivotal in guiding daily rounds, coordinating treatment plans, performing essential procedures, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based practices. This full-time, on-site position offers a dynamic environment where collaboration with pulmonology, anesthesiology, nursing, and other specialties is essential to achieving excellence in critical care.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care and Management: Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for critically ill adult patients, including those with multi-organ dysfunction, sepsis, or post-surgical complications. Utilize advanced critical care techniques such as ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced life support to stabilize and improve patient conditions.
• Clinical Leadership and Collaboration: Lead daily multidisciplinary rounds, fostering a collaborative approach with intensivists, pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, and allied health professionals. Coordinate care plans to ensure alignment with clinical guidelines and institutional protocols, optimizing patient recovery and minimizing complications.
• Procedural Expertise: Perform and oversee critical procedures, including central line insertions, endotracheal intubations, and bedside ultrasounds. Maintain proficiency in managing complex pulmonary conditions, such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and severe asthma exacerbations, as well as perioperative care for high-risk surgical patients.
• Documentation and Quality Assurance: Maintain meticulous and accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and clinical decisions. Participate in quality and safety initiatives to enhance ICU performance, reduce adverse events, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts through data analysis and feedback integration.
• Education and Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and resource for ICU nurses and junior physicians, providing guidance on best practices in critical care. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest advancements in intensive care medicine and share knowledge with the team.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, you must possess a robust foundation in general medicine, with a proven track record in managing acutely and critically ill patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in critical care medicine, including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced life support techniques. Familiarity with pulmonology and anesthesiology principles is highly desirable, particularly in the context of respiratory failure, complex pulmonary conditions, and perioperative care.

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Board certification or equivalent qualification in Intensive Care Medicine, Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, or a related specialty, as applicable to the jurisdiction.
• A valid medical license and eligibility to practice in the relevant jurisdiction, with prior experience in tertiary or teaching hospitals considered a significant advantage.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly and effectively to patients, families, and healthcare teams.
