NDE Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced NDE (Non-Destructive Evaluation) Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, qualifying, and approving NDE procedures while ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and specifications. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing and implementing NDE techniques, interpreting results, and establishing acceptance criteria to maintain the highest levels of quality and safety in our operations. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical knowledge, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record in NDE methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Procedure Development and Approval: Lead the creation, qualification, and approval of NDE procedures to ensure they meet regulatory and industry standards.
• Technique and Standard Interpretation: Establish and approve NDE techniques, interpreting relevant codes, standards, specifications, and procedures to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Method and Technique Designation: Determine the most appropriate NDE methods, techniques, and procedures for specific applications, optimizing accuracy and efficiency.
• Results Evaluation: Analyze and interpret NDE operation results in accordance with established codes, standards, and specifications, providing clear and actionable insights.
• Acceptance Criteria Establishment: Develop techniques and assist in defining acceptance criteria when none are predefined, ensuring consistency and reliability in evaluations.
• Equipment Procurement and Review: Oversee the review and procurement of NDE equipment, aligning selections with company and customer requirements to enhance operational capabilities.
• Collaborative Support: Provide technical guidance and assistance to teams, contributing to the resolution of complex NDE challenges and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the NDE department and the organization.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Educational Background: Hold a Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, complemented by certification as a Level III professional from ASNT, PCN, or another recognized body, with expertise in Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
• Professional Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in NDE, with a focus on practical application and technical proficiency.
• Technical Knowledge: Possess a comprehensive understanding of relevant products, technical standards, and industry codes to ensure compliance and accuracy in evaluations.
• Operational Expertise: Exhibit strong knowledge of NDE methods and the operation of NDE machines, enabling effective troubleshooting and optimization.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Showcase exceptional investigative abilities and a methodical approach to resolving technical challenges.
• Software Proficiency: Be adept in using Microsoft Office applications to support documentation, reporting, and data analysis.
• ERP System Knowledge: Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
