Planning Officer (Entry-Level)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Planning Officer (Entry-Level) to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in supporting project operations by assisting in strategic planning, evaluation, and execution to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Your responsibilities will include analyzing expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and overseeing project timelines and budgets. Key Responsibilities

• Project Coordination and Reporting: Assist in compiling and preparing planning data for project progress submissions, ensuring timely delivery of weekly and monthly reports in collaboration with the Project Manager and Site Quantity Surveyor.
• Planning and Documentation: Prepare essential planning reports, including manpower requirements, material procurement schedules, and other documentation in accordance with approved programs and established procedures.
• Data Management: Maintain accurate project files, input data as required, and ensure all information is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.
• Innovative Planning Tools: Assist in developing and implementing cutting-edge tools and techniques to enhance the planning process and improve project efficiency.
• Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Track day-to-day project progress, identify potential delays or slippages, and communicate these findings promptly to stakeholders. Compare planned versus actual progress and report any variances to the Planning Engineer.
• Schedule Management: Update project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to contract timelines. Input progress updates and related data into Excel spreadsheets or specialized planning software.
• Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate closely with project teams, vendors, and management to provide real-time status updates and foster effective communication across all levels of the organization.
• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Compliance: Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and Integrated Management System (IMS) policies.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Technical Expertise: A solid understanding of organizational and document planning techniques, along with proficiency in various planning tools and methodologies.
• Project Scoping and Scheduling: Ability to scope projects accurately and develop comprehensive work schedules to ensure timely and budget-conscious completion.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with planning-related software and, preferably, functional skills in SAP ERP systems to streamline project management processes.
• Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess project performance and clear communication skills to relay findings and updates to stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: This role is ideal for fresh graduates eager to launch their careers in planning and project management. Prior internship or academic experience in project planning is a plus but not mandatory.
