In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with site operations teams to uphold stringent safety standards, mitigate risks, and ensure full adherence to both **Amazon WHS policies** and **local/regional regulations**. By leveraging **lean principles, kaizen methodologies**, and data-driven insights, you will lead transformative initiatives that enhance workplace safety, reduce ergonomic and conditional risks, and empower Associates to perform at their best in a secure environment.

As a **Site WHS Officer**, you will serve as a trusted advisor, mentor, and strategic partner to Operations Leaders, driving proactive safety measures while fostering a collaborative environment where safety is everyone’s responsibility. Your ability to **communicate effectively, analyze safety metrics, and implement corrective actions** will be critical in maintaining a high-performing, compliant, and risk-aware workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of safety-focused duties, including:

• Compliance & Policy Oversight: Ensure full adherence to **Amazon WHS standards, policies, and local/regional regulations**, providing guidance and oversight to maintain operational excellence.
• Performance Monitoring & Corrective Action: Evaluate site performance against safety benchmarks, identify deficiencies, and develop and execute **actionable improvement plans** to address gaps in compliance.
• Data-Driven Safety Leadership: Conduct **weekly and monthly incident trend analyses** to pinpoint high-risk areas, allocate resources effectively, and drive targeted interventions to prevent injuries and incidents.
• Incident Investigation & Closure: Lead thorough **incident investigations**, ensuring timely closure of **Corrective Action (CA) and Preventive Action (PA)** items to eliminate recurring risks.
• Site Audits & Risk Mitigation: Perform **frequent safety audits** to identify non-compliant equipment, processes, or behaviors, then design and implement **sustainable solutions** to mitigate exposure and enhance workplace safety.
• Training & Behavioral Safety: Audit **training programs, scoring methods, and Associate behaviors** to ensure alignment with global WHS standards, while mentoring Safety Associates during peak operational periods.
• Continuous Improvement Collaboration: Engage with **Safety teams, Associates, and Operations Leaders** to gather insights on safety program enhancements, ensuring transparent communication on progress and resolutions.
• Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and consistent **WHS records**, ensuring compliance with global and local regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess:

• Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret safety data, identify trends, and implement evidence-based solutions.
• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities to guide Safety Associates, train Operations Leaders, and inspire a culture of safety ownership.
• Preferred Qualification: **NEBOSH (National General Certificate)** or equivalent certification in workplace health and safety.
