Position Overview
Join Red Sea Sports & Entertainment (RSSE), a dynamic subsidiary of Red Sea Global (RSG), as a Dive Center First Mate and become an integral part of delivering world-class marine and land-based experiences at The Red Sea destination. As a key member of the Galaxea team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Dive Center Manager and Boat Captain to ensure seamless, safe, and unforgettable diving and underwater tourism operations. Your responsibilities will span daily boat excursions, equipment maintenance, guest service, and environmental stewardship, all while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on operational role, you will assist in the following areas to contribute to the success of the dive center:
- Boat Operations & Guest Experience:
- Support the Boat Captain in executing daily dive excursions, ensuring all activities are conducted with the utmost safety, professionalism, and guest satisfaction.
- Prepare and maintain dive boats for operations, including cleaning, presentation, and readiness for excursions.
- Assist in managing diver pick-up and drop-off procedures, ensuring efficient and organized logistics.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver memorable underwater experiences that align with RSSE’s commitment to world-class service.
- Equipment & Facility Management:
- Support daily cylinder filling operations and maintain the organization of the dive center, including equipment checks and routine maintenance.
- Ensure all diving equipment is clean, functional, and ready for use, adhering to strict safety and quality standards.
- Keep accurate records of boat maintenance, operational logs, and daily activities to support transparency and compliance.
- Environmental Stewardship & Compliance:
- Work closely with the Sustainability and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) departments to ensure all operations align with environmental regulations and best practices.
- Promote responsible diving and marine conservation initiatives, fostering a culture of environmental awareness among guests and staff.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental management policies to protect guests, staff, and marine ecosystems.
- Pre-Opening & Post-Opening Support:
- During the pre-opening phase, collaborate with RSG departments to ensure operational readiness and timely project delivery for the dive center.
- Post-opening, maintain a strong focus on safety as the top priority for all diving and boat operations, while continuously improving operational efficiency.
- Familiarize yourself with local dive sites and conditions to enhance operational knowledge and guest experience.
- Administrative & Team Collaboration:
- Support administrative tasks as required, including office visits and reporting, to ensure smooth operational workflows.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with managers, colleagues, and guests to foster a collaborative and guest-centric environment.
- Contribute to operational reporting and functional documentation to support continuous improvement and compliance.
Job Requirements
To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and possess the necessary skills:
- Qualifications:
- Certification as a PADI Divemaster or equivalent diving qualification.
- Valid boating license and experience operating dive boats in marine environments.
- Strong knowledge of diving protocols, safety procedures, and emergency response.
- Familiarity with dive center operations, equipment maintenance, and cylinder filling processes.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with guests and team members effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to support daily operations and administrative tasks.
- Commitment to environmental sustainability and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment, working in marine environments, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by operational needs.
