Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Specialist, Infrastructure (System Admin.) to join our dynamic IT team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining robust server infrastructure to support the organization’s operational and strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities

The Specialist, Infrastructure (System Admin.) will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Server Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and maintain server infrastructure tailored to the company’s evolving needs, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Proactively monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance system efficiency and uptime.
• Security and Compliance: Conduct regular system audits to identify vulnerabilities, implement robust security measures, and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Stay current with security best practices and apply necessary updates and patches promptly.
• Hardware and Software Management: Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain server hardware and software components, including virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and Hyper-V.
• Data Protection and Recovery: Develop, implement, and validate backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity. Regularly test recovery processes to confirm their effectiveness.
• Collaboration and Support: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide effective IT solutions. Offer technical support to resolve server-related issues and incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Microsoft Ecosystem Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Exchange. Manage Active Directory (AD), Group Policies, Azure Active Directory, and Office 365 integration, with hands-on experience in AD migration projects.
• Network Services Administration: Administer essential network services such as DNS, DHCP, WINS, and DFS within Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019 environments. Manage file sharing, Azure AD, and Exchange Admin Center to support seamless operations.
• Endpoint Security Management: Oversee endpoint security solutions, including Symantec Endpoint Protection and McAfee Endpoint Security, to protect organizational assets from threats.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation for server configurations, procedures, and best practices. Provide regular reports on server performance, capacity, and security metrics to stakeholders.
• On-Call Support: Be available on-call to address emergencies and provide 24/7 support as needed, ensuring rapid response to critical incidents.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and possess the relevant experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a System Administrator or in a related technical role, with a proven track record in server administration and infrastructure management.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments (2012, 2016, 2019), including Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and file sharing. Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and endpoint security solutions (Symantec, McAfee) is essential.
• Microsoft Technologies: In-depth familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, Outlook, Exchange), Azure Active Directory, and Office 365 integration. Prior involvement in AD migration projects is highly desirable.
• Problem-Solving and Collaboration: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality are required.
