Position Overview

As a PBB (Passenger Boarding Bridge) Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of passengers between the terminal and aircraft. Your primary responsibility will be to operate the passenger boarding bridge with precision, handling both arrivals and departures with the utmost care to maintain operational safety and passenger comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Safe Maneuvering: Operate the passenger boarding bridge to align it securely with the aircraft door during boarding and disembarkation, ensuring smooth and hazard-free transitions for passengers.
• Docking and Unlocking Procedures: Execute docking procedures with accuracy to establish a stable connection between the terminal and aircraft. Perform unlocking sequences with diligence to facilitate seamless passenger movement while prioritizing safety protocols.
• Operational Compliance: Adhere strictly to all aviation safety regulations, company policies, and operational guidelines to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Communication and Coordination: Maintain clear and concise communication with ground crew, air traffic control, and terminal operations to synchronize boarding and disembarkation processes efficiently.
• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance checks on the PBB to identify and report any malfunctions or issues that may affect performance or safety.
• Emergency Preparedness: Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, such as equipment failures or passenger medical incidents, by following established protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals involved.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess a high school diploma or equivalent qualification, along with a valid driver’s license. Prior experience in operating heavy machinery or airport ground equipment is highly advantageous. Strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are essential traits for success in this position. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills and the capacity to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
