IT Support Engineer

Position Overview

Bechtel, a global leader in engineering, construction, and project management, is seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer to join the prestigious King Salman International Airport (KSIA) project in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This critical role will support the deployment of cutting-edge technological infrastructure essential to the successful execution of one of the world’s most ambitious airport developments. Reporting directly to the Project IT Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless IT operations, enhancing end-user productivity, and maintaining robust network and system reliability across the project’s expansive scope.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for a diverse range of technical and operational duties, including:

• Hardware and Network Deployment: Implement and support IT hardware deployments, network infrastructure systems, and provide comprehensive deskside support to end users across the project site.
• Collaboration and Productivity Tools: Support Microsoft 365 platforms, including Teams, Outlook, and other collaboration tools, ensuring uninterrupted communication and workflow efficiency for project teams.
• IT Asset Management: Maintain accurate IT asset inventory using ServiceNOW, manage IT stockrooms, and ensure adherence to corporate, GBU, and project-specific IT standards and security protocols.
• Technical Documentation and Training: Develop IT support guides, user training materials, and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT processes and workflows.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the Project IT Manager, corporate GIO, and other stakeholders to establish IT requirements, review business application portfolios, and align technological solutions with project objectives.
• Compliance and Security: Ensure all IT activities comply with corporate policies, GBU standards, and project-specific security requirements, safeguarding sensitive data and infrastructure integrity.
• Automation and Reporting: Develop reports, dashboards, and automated workflows to enhance IT service delivery and operational transparency.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Fundamentals courses, are desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant IT support experience, or 6-9 years of relevant work experience in a similar capacity.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of IT hardware deployment, network infrastructure, Microsoft 365 platforms, and IT asset management tools such as ServiceNOW.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic project setting, with a keen understanding of IT’s role in supporting large-scale infrastructure projects.
