Role Overview

As a System Operation Specialist based in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all automated and non-automated warehousing materials handling equipment and systems. Your responsibilities will encompass hands-on repair and maintenance of automated material handling systems, diagnosing and resolving electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults, and supporting installation teams during the preparation and installation of advanced materials handling equipment. You will also be instrumental in addressing both short-term and long-term faults or stoppages, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Additionally, you will be responsible for breakdown resolution reporting and follow-up to maintain optimal system performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and effective operation of automated and non-automated warehousing materials handling equipment and systems to meet Almarai’s business requirements.
• Perform hands-on repair and maintenance of automated material handling equipment to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults in materials handling systems to restore functionality promptly.
• Assist installation teams with the preparation, installation, and commissioning of automatic materials handling equipment, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and safety standards.
• Support operational recovery efforts by resolving short-term and long-term faults or stoppages, thereby maintaining continuous production flow.
• Prepare detailed breakdown resolution reports and follow up on corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify system inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience with industrial automation systems, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms.
• Hands-on expertise in PLC programming, with proficiency in systems such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider.
• Strong background in control systems design, troubleshooting, and commissioning of industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, including Profibus, Modbus, Profinet, and Ethernet/IP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward work, fostering a collaborative and solution-oriented work environment.
