Senior Governance Specialist – Drive Excellence in Corporate Governance
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Governance Specialist to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in shaping and reinforcing our organization’s governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with best practices, regulatory standards, and strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Governance Specialist, your core responsibilities will include:
- Governance Framework Development: Design, review, and maintain robust governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and delegated authority matrices to ensure clarity, accountability, and compliance across all levels of the organization.
- Regulatory Compliance & Monitoring: Oversee adherence to governance policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements, conducting regular assessments to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Committee Support & Reporting: Provide comprehensive support to governance committees by preparing detailed agendas, reports, presentations, and meeting documentation to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic discussions.
- Governance Assessments & Continuous Improvement: Lead governance assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing practices and propose innovative solutions to strengthen governance structures and mitigate risks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business units, subsidiaries, and corporate functions to embed governance principles into daily operations, fostering a culture of accountability and transparency.
- Implementation & Progress Tracking: Spearhead the execution of governance initiatives, monitor progress against defined objectives, and ensure timely delivery of milestones to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in Corporate Governance, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), Risk Management, or Compliance within a corporate or holding company environment.
- In-depth knowledge of governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, with a strong understanding of corporate structures, particularly in holding companies or diversified groups.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to assess complex governance challenges and develop practical, sustainable solutions.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities, allowing you to engage effectively with senior leadership, board members, and cross-functional teams.
- Professional certifications such as GRCP (Governance, Risk, and Compliance Professional), CGRC (Certified Governance, Risk, and Compliance), or equivalent are highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
