Overview
The Inbound Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing inbound warehouse operations, ensuring seamless execution of receiving, inspection, and put-away processes. This position requires strong leadership to supervise a team of inbound associates, enforce compliance with operational and safety standards, and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy. The Inbound Supervisor acts as a liaison between the warehouse, internal departments, and external suppliers to facilitate efficient workflows and uphold service level agreements (SLAs). By driving productivity, accountability, and continuous improvement, this role contributes directly to the overall operational excellence of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead, mentor, and supervise the inbound team, assigning daily tasks and priorities to maximize operational efficiency. Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and support employee development through coaching and training initiatives.
- Process Management: Oversee receiving, inspection, and put-away activities in strict accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and SLAs. Ensure adherence to quality control measures and safety protocols to mitigate risks and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Inventory Accuracy: Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems to ensure accuracy in stock levels. Conduct regular audits and reconcile discrepancies to minimize errors and enhance operational reliability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with internal departments, including procurement, logistics, and quality assurance, to align inbound activities with broader organizational goals. Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers to resolve issues, expedite deliveries, and foster strong vendor relationships.
- Operational Planning: Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly schedules to optimize workforce allocation and resource utilization. Address operational challenges proactively, implementing corrective actions to maintain productivity and meet performance targets.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce workplace safety policies and ergonomic standards to create a secure working environment. Ensure all inbound operations comply with OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Skills
Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of two years of experience in warehouse operations, with a proven track record in supervisory or leadership roles. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks effectively, and lead a team with confidence is critical to success in this role.
